What Is Of Skin & Rock?
Of Skin & Rock (or Of Skin and Rock) is a photography project by Fin MacMillan. Shot on film with large and medium format cameras and using portable studio flash on location, the project focuses on free-climbers and boulderers. The series has been shot in locations across France, Spain, and the UK, combining documentary storytelling with the precision of studio lighting in remote, rugged environments. The project has been featured in multiple exhibitions (including Snapshot23 in 2023 & Climbunity in 2025), and published in Pier Journal: www.pierjournal.co.uk/wellness-and-nature/of-skin-and-rock

Can I Buy Prints?
Yes! Prints of any image on this website are available on request. I can print inkjet up to A3, digital C-Type up to 30 inches on the shortest dimension, and darkroom (30 inches for colour & 40 inches for black & white).
